Symetra is hiring a Commercial Real Estate Loan Analyst to support the origination and underwriting of commercial real estate loan investments. This role is ideal for someone who loves financial analysis, real estate, underwriting, and detailed review work — all within a structured, mission-driven insurance and investment organization.
You’ll manage multiple loans at once, review property and borrower data, support loan approval processes, prepare financial analyses, and collaborate closely with teams across underwriting, servicing, risk, and loan origination. This is a remote-first position with a few onsite events per year at the Bellevue, WA office.

📋 Key Responsibilities
Gather and analyze data for loan approval, including property performance, financial statements, credit information, and leasing documentation.
Draft loan approval forms and loan applications for internal review.
Prepare historical property analyses, refinance evaluations, assumptions, resets, and valuations using company standards.
Write clear narratives outlining strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities for each loan request.
Support loan retention efforts by analyzing loans at risk of payoff and recommending alternative terms or refinances.
Partner with internal teams (Originators, Servicers, Analysts, Managers) to support smooth underwriting workflow.
Build relationships with Mortgage Banking correspondents; participate in property visits to understand CRE markets firsthand.
Assist with departmental projects, including training new team members.
Maintain meticulous documentation and timely completion of all underwriting tasks.
🧩 Requirements
High school diploma required; advanced education in finance, real estate, or business is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial data and property performance.
Excellent time management — able to handle multiple loans at once with minimal supervision.
High accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to spot inconsistencies in data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of crafting clear underwriting narratives.
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
Comfortable learning new tools and adapting to evolving workflows.
Proactive, self-driven, and able to manage a flexible, dynamic workload.
Knowledge of basic financial math and underwriting equations.
Ability to use CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Must meet remote network requirements (100 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up; fiber, cable, or DSL — no satellite or hotspot connections).
Authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
Must be willing to attend in-person events in Bellevue, WA a few times per year.
