Adventist Health is seeking a Pre-Services Representative to support its Acute Financial Clearance team in a per-diem capacity. In this role, you’ll help ensure hospital procedures are financially secured by verifying patient demographics, insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations — while guiding patients through financial responsibility with clarity and compassion.


This role is ideal for individuals with healthcare registration, patient access, or financial clearance experience who want flexible scheduling while continuing to work in a structured, compliance-driven healthcare environment.



📋 Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic, clinical, and financial information.

  • Pre-register patients and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.

  • Identify services requiring insurance authorization, notification, or recertification.

  • Complete medical necessity reviews and estimate patient financial responsibility.

  • Communicate estimated costs to patients and collect payments when applicable.

  • Assist patients with Medicaid and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) applications.

  • Coordinate admissions documentation for billing, medical records, and ancillary departments.

  • Post payments and contractual adjustments to patient accounts.

  • Set up payment schedules for patients unable to pay balances in full.

  • Work collaboratively with nurses, medical staff, insurance carriers, and external partners.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and JCAHO requirements.

🧩 Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate degree or equivalent healthcare experience preferred.

  • Healthcare front-office or patient access experience preferred.

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and accuracy.

  • Comfortable working in a compliance-driven healthcare environment.

  • Must meet Adventist Health vaccination requirements (medical/religious exemptions may apply).

  • Authorization to work in the United States.
