Walgreens is hiring a Remote Pharmacy Technician (Front End) to support prescription processing, patient data entry, insurance loading, and coordination with physicians and patients. This role is fully remote but you must reside in Arizona or Texas.
You’ll work behind the scenes in the pharmacy workflow — entering new prescriptions, resolving exceptions, handling reorders, assisting with fulfillment tasks, and supporting pharmacist callbacks and quality assurance. This position blends administrative accuracy with patient support, and requires either an active pharmacy technician license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.

📋 Key Responsibilities
Enter new prescriptions and patient demographics into Walgreens’ data processing system.
Handle prescription exceptions and reach out to physicians/patients when needed.
Work with imaging folders for new patients/new referrals.
Load insurance plans and coordination of benefits into the system.
Participate in reviewing and auditing test claims for new referrals.
Process reorders and email distributions as needed.
Assist with fulfillment tasks such as picking, packing, and manifesting (business-need dependent).
Perform image indexing, AE report filing, and specialty program support.
Provide primary support for special handling programs, disease-state programs, or escalated cases.
Complete additional registered/licensed responsibilities as appropriate.
🧩 Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Must reside in Arizona or Texas.
Must obtain active pharmacy technician license/certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 90 days and maintain it.
1+ year experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or call-center environment.
Experience providing customer service and meeting quality standards.
Basic proficiency using MS Windows, MS Office, or similar systems.
Preferred
Strong verbal/written communication and ability to handle confidential information.
Active PTCB or ExCPT certification.
