Finalsite — a leading digital platform serving over 7,000 K–12 schools and districts worldwide — is hiring a Data Support Specialist to support clients with their data needs across Finalsite’s software ecosystem. This role blends technical problem-solving, client support, data accuracy, and system troubleshooting, making it ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working across databases, integrations, and content management systems.


As part of Finalsite’s virtual, U.S.-based support team, you’ll assist clients with data imports, exports, sanitization, SQL scripting, API interactions, and integration-related requests. You’ll also collaborate with engineers, guide clients on best practices, and help ensure clean, secure, and well-functioning data across their platforms.



📋 Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients via ticketing, phone, chat, and Zoom with data-related questions and issues.

  • Perform data sanitization, verification, importing, and exporting across Finalsite’s products.

  • Create, run, and modify SQL scripts to resolve errors, improve database performance, and support third-party integrations.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot software used to interact with APIs, authentication systems, SSOs, and Student Information Systems (SIS).

  • Collaborate with Data Integration Engineers to ensure smooth and accurate data syncing across platforms.

  • Advise clients on best practices for secure and sustainable data workflows.

  • Stay up to date on new product features, integration partner updates, and industry trends.

  • Document bug reports, enhancement requests, and detailed troubleshooting steps.

  • Contribute to support backlog as needed based on volume.

  • Attend daily standups, escalation meetings, and cross-team discussions.

  • Strengthen Finalsite’s customer experience through clear communication and expert support.

🧩 Requirements

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Working knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (Python preferred)

  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.)

  • Understanding of Windows or Unix administration

  • Familiarity with protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, and REST

  • Experience working with APIs strongly preferred

Professional Skills:

  • 2–5 years customer service or technical support experience preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to multitask across competing deadlines

  • Comfortable translating technical details for non-technical users

  • Experience working with remote, distributed teams

  • Ability to cover evening or weekend hours when needed

Residency:

  • Must be a permanent U.S. resident and live within the United States for continued employment
