Encova Insurance is offering a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship for an Intake Representative (Claims) — an excellent opportunity for students wanting hands-on insurance experience in a nationally recognized internship program.
As part of Encova’s Intake team, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers reporting new losses. You’ll gather claim details, help determine coverage, document facts of loss, respond to inquiries, and support claim decisions in the Engagement Center. You’ll also collaborate with leadership on onboarding new associates and help improve intake processes.

📋 Key Responsibilities
Receive initial claim information by phone, email, fax, and electronic submissions.
Provide guidance on claim-reporting options and coverage details.
Identify the correct policy and coverage based on loss information.
Document all intake details accurately in Encova’s claim system.
Analyze claim facts to determine next steps or additional information needed.
Support internal/external customers via calls, emails, and correspondence.
Interpret coverage and issue claim decisions for Engagement Center cases.
Assist leadership with onboarding new associates.
Update and help refine intake processes and procedures.
Handle additional duties or special projects as assigned.
🧩 Requirements
Must be currently enrolled with 60+ completed credit hours.
Full-time availability (40 hrs/week) during Summer 2026.
Strong customer-service skills; prior claims or insurance experience preferred.
Ability to multi-task, analyze information, and make informed decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
Proficient with Microsoft products and able to work across multiple systems.
High school diploma required.
1 year of customer service or claims intake experience preferred.
