Shady Grove Fertility is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist (Payment Poster) to join their remote team. In this role, you’ll post insurance and patient payments, manage electronic remittances, follow up with payors, and ensure accurate patient account records. This position is ideal for individuals with medical billing experience who want to make a meaningful impact in healthcare, supporting patients and families while working fully remote.
📋 Key Responsibilities
Post daily insurance and patient payments from US Mail, EFT, and credit card vendor to patient accounts.
Set up ERA/EFT for the practice and ensure all payor portals are accessible.
Research and resolve discrepancies; follow up with insurance companies for missing information.
Review and correct patient accounts to ensure satisfaction.
Apply denials, deductibles, and handle overpayment recovery.
Reconcile daily work to bank deposits and assist with month-end Q&A functions.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
Support other department functions as a backup when needed.
🧩 Requirements
Associate degree in accounting, business, healthcare, or medical billing certificate preferred; High School Diploma with 3+ years’ medical billing experience accepted.
Minimum 1 year specialized experience with medical billing certificate, or 3 years without certificate.
Proficiency with medical software, MS Office applications, and general office procedures.
Strong judgment, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
Financial and customer service background is a plus.
