💬 Job Overview
MedScope, part of Medical Guardian, is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to manage Medicaid payer accounts and ensure proper reimbursement for healthcare services.In this fully remote role, you'll own a book of business, conduct claim follow-up, resolve denials, work with payer representatives, and ensure compliance with payer-specific guidelines.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the full claim lifecycle, thrives on problem-solving, and is skilled in navigating insurance follow-up processes. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, with an hourly rate of $22/hour.
📋 Key Responsibilities
Manage a designated list of Medicaid payers and act as the subject-matter expert for each.
Meet monthly productivity goals and key KPIs tied to collection percentages.
Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely resolution and reimbursement.
Review, analyze, appeal, and escalate denied or underpaid claims.
Track denial trends and communicate issues to management.
Communicate with insurance companies via phone, payer portals, or written correspondence.
Maintain meticulous documentation within the billing system.
Monitor timely filing guidelines and authorization requirements.
Prepare corrected claims or reconsiderations as needed.
Stay updated on payer rules, workflows, and filing terms.
Limited phone work (mostly care managers — not direct patient-facing).
🧩 Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s preferred.
2+ years of medical billing or revenue cycle management experience.
Strong understanding of payer policies, Medicaid processes, and denial management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a high-volume remote setting.
Friendly phone demeanor (care managers only).
Experience with Salesforce or Waystar is a plus.
